Ayuntamiento Estocolmo (Stockholm Stadhut)

Today, sunday 15th I went with Amaia to see the Stockholm Stad hut. First we walk around it , without enter, and is very beautiful, like a palace. Then we enter. The city hall was built for 1911 to 1923 following the desigs of the architect Ragnar östberg. This is one of the most important builings in Sweden, and it has a national-romantic style. Behind its beautifuls facades, with eight milion of brickwords, there are the officies, rooms of conference, and party rooms. The Stadhut can be used for fo many things : important evennings, celebrations, meetins. But the most popular is the dinner of the Nobels.

The Stadhut is very big and there are lots of rooms, and almost every floor or stairs or scultures or everything that you can see it is made with swedish matereals, and using swedish own style.

The first room you see when yo enter is like a italian square with a balcony, because the architect wanted the Stadhut to be like the italian "piazi". This are the amazing rooms that I visit today :

The blue room → This is the biggest party room in the building, and it is not really painted in blue. Here is went the 10th of december the Nobels Prizes takes place everyear. In this room there are an enormous organ with about 10.000 tubes.

The Council chamber → Here is where the municipal council of Stockholm have meetings, is very beautiful and is red. They have meeting once a month more o less. The public gallery is next to a audience of 200 people, this is for the mass media can tretransmite the meetings. The ceiling, with its symbolic opening, gives us the sensation of encontrarnor in a cabin of time of the vikings.

The arch of the hundred →It forms the entry of honor to the City hall, and gives direct accedd to the flooor of festivals. There is too a part of the berlfry of San Geoge, in summer it turns and San Geoge with the dragoon and you can see the balcony while a melody is playing. The anteroom of the floor of festivals, the Oval, shelters the tapestries of Tureholm, they are from France and they were of 1600. In this room is where people get married, and is very popular. Normally, on Saturday afternoon is open six hours and in each hour there are a wedding,is very quick.

The gallery of the prince → This room is in use for the municipal receipts. From here there is a brilliant great sight of a part of the lake Mälaren. The mural of the wall was painted by the Prince Eugenio.

The lounge of three crowns → It is call " the lounge of three crowns because here teher are three gilded lamps. There is a important bild " Sight from Mosebacke" of Elías Martin, it is of the year 1790 more or less.

Golder lounge → This is the one which i like the most, is very big, and with very tall ceiling. This room is all with more than 18 milions piede os mosaic in glass and gold, Einar Foreth created this room, he was very young when he did it, and there are some mistakes, for example in the top of one wall there is a man riding a horse and a part of the horse is abset. It last seven years to complet all the room. Here is where the Nobels prize dance take place, and more than 700 people can stay there. In on of the walls of the room there is the“ Queen of Mälaren”, it simbolice that Stockholm is the centre of the world. It is said that the woman has big eyes, like a fish, to see everthing, curly hair, like snakes, which simbolice the water in the river Mälaren, big arms because she need to be strong, and big feet because she need to stay strong.
